when was the white house built

More than 200 years ago the white house was an official residence of the president and his family in United States. It was the symbol of presidency all over the world. It was also a workplace for the president to handle and administer all the country matters. Now a question arises here is when this white house was built? It was built between the years 1792 to 1800. It was built in neo classical style and was painted in Aquila sand stone. James Hoban was the designer of this white house. He was an Irish-born. Since John Adams, it remained the residence of every president. When it was the time of Thomas Jefferson, he expanded the building structure of the white house. Two colonnades were built for the purpose of concealing stables and storage.
During the war of 1812:
During war of 1812, its construction again started and the president James Monroe Stepped in the house that was being constructed. Eight years after this construction, once again William Howard Taft proposed the idea to create the oval office in the white house building. In 1927, the upper portion at third floor was converted into quarters. For the reception purpose of any social event East wing was the mostly used area. He was the president, who connected new wings with the older ones. All these alterations came to an end in 1946. An additional office space was given at that time. The interior rooms were also rebuilt. The white house that is in front of us is having executive residence along with the cabinet room, East and West wing Eisenhower Executive office building and Roosevelt Room. These were houses the presidents, vice presidents and the executive offices. Actually this white house was a six story building. Two story basements was there along with the Ground, first, second and third floor. White house is a term in its real sense that is referred to the executive office of United States’ president and his advisers as well. The white house building consists of 132 rooms in which there are six levels of residence, thirty five bathrooms, twenty eight fireplaces, eight staircases, four hundred and twelve doors, one hundred and forty seven windows and three elevators. For the purpose of recreation there are many things like jogging track, movie theatre and swimming pool.

Conclusion:
This whole is summed up in few words by saying that this historical building was designed for the president to administer the country at his ease.
